the Artist's Way

Dan Region in association with The Columbia County Council on the Arts will be offering an artistically inspirational and motivational workshop based on Julia Cameron’s best-selling book The Artist’s Way.

Taught by Daniel Region–who has worked with Ms. Cameron and known her for more than 20 years–the 12-week course will be held on Saturdays at 10 am beginning Saturday, September 24th, at Columbia County Council on the Arts , 209 Warren St., Hudson, NY.

The Course consists of working through each of the 12 individual chapters of Ms. Cameron’s landmark book–which has sold over 2 million copies. Mr. Region also compliments the course by folding in information contained in two of her subsequent works, Vein of Gold and Walking in This World –The Artist’s Way 12-Week Course is an uplifting and empowering program for aspiring artists and professional/ working artists, writers, poets, actors, painters, musicians, and creative individuals from all walks of life. The course is also highly beneficial for those in the business world.

According to Mr. Region, "Creative expression is a natural impulse, but it can get derailed, side-tracked, or sabotaged by our own insecurities or by the interference of others. Whether someone is a working artist or a closet Picasso, creative individuals face very common issues and ‘blocks,’ which are easy to overcome once they are recognized and acknowledged with the help of simple, powerful tools. Even among those of us who have a copy of The Artist’s Way sitting on our bookshelf at home, it is very typical for the most well intentioned artist to get through four or five chapters and give up. I know, I’ve done it myself! Mr. Region’s 12-week course enables participants to joyfully reclaim, recover, rediscover, and build their creativity while overcoming and learning to avoid the artistic stumbling blocks that prevent the artist within from realizing his/her full potential. Here's the Details on The Artist’s Way 12-Week Course

  • The Artist’s Way 12-week course will begin Saturday September 24 and conclude with Week 12 on December 10.

  • Each  class will begin at 10:00 am and end between 12:15 & 12:30 pm. (2 1/4 to 2 1/2 hours)

  • The Fee for The Artist’s Way 12-Week Course is $360.00. That works out to $30 per session. 

  • The course size is limited so it is important to reserve early.

  • Participants of The Artist’s Way workshop will need a copy of Julia Cameron's same-titled book, an 8 ½" x 11" or legal-size spiral notebook, and their favorite writing instrument.

  • Copies of The Artist’s Way will be available in Hudson at The Spotty Dog, 440 Warren Street.
